Okay! It’s getting stale already I suppose, because the year is slowly but gradually ticking away. What are your plans, goals and aspiration for this year?  before you tell me It took me almost nine days to write a happy new year post, don’t forget that it is never too late to begin the year with dreams, goals and plans for a better year. At least I got my a…s up and I’m writing something. Don’t judge. Lol. But more seriously, I always look forward to the New Year because it makes us aware of our past mistakes and helps us refocus our energies into making better decisions and recreating healthier memories. As we begin to make plans, write goals, about the changes we expect to happen in our lives this year we need to carry a mindset of they are achievable.

However, why it is important and great to do all these at the beginning of a new year, this year 2017, we need to be Deliberate about our dreams, plans, goals, and strategies for the coming year. We need to be willing to work and walk the talk, we need to be ready to overcome the challenges, or else all our planning will become a mere wish before our eyes. I haven’t been deliberate about a lot of things in my life, but I have made my decisions to be more deliberate this year. You too should make that decision, yes! You. Lol.

This year, expect a lot of random post; after all this blog is about self-discovery. I will put a reminder on all my devices about all I need to get done, don’t forget to set deadlines for your goals this year, be realistic with them, be patient with yourself, most importantly, this year love , live and let live( what’s that? Well help me out. Lol) like the coaches on a Facebook community I belong to will say be #phenomenal #toolatetobenobody. CIAO

NO CARE

Imagine a world where no one had to worry about anything, you wake up, take a bath, eat meals throughout the day, sit in front of the television all day, probably nap in between without going to work, not thinking about paying bills, what to wear, or how to make sure your bank account doesn’t run out of cash. hmm! impossible right?

When I watch my son, I wonder why adult life is so complicated. The little fire-ball as I like to call him sure knows how to keep busy. In fact watching him meet his milestones was simply amazing. The day he took his first step was definitely the best day of his toddler life. All he thinks about is walking all over the house until exhaustion drives him to sleep. He doesn’t have to worry about anything, all he’s accustomed to, is mummy changing diaper, feeding him at intervals even when he hasn’t cried out for food, worry if that cough is the flu or not, waking up at night to check on him and make sure he’s very comfy.

In as much as we cannot  be served like children, we definitely can learn one or two from the lifestyle of a child. We shouldn’t be  irresponsible adults idling away because we want to live the life of a child but we can adopt the “No worries” attitude of a child. we definitely can bring a balance into our lives by not worrying about everything. like they always say, worrying doesn’t get anything done. it only aggravates our health and can lead to life threatening diseases.

If you find yourself worrying, then you need to off load those things. Try fixing the problem, if you worried about your finances try to budget more, or if it’s about your career try updating yourself, make sure you are still relevant to be well positioned when a better opportunity presents itself. But above all these, my greatest cure pill for worry is PRAYERS. I can’t tell you enough how it has helped lift heavy burdens off my heart.

when everything becomes so overwhelming, and have exhausted all therapy to get them fixed, i bow my head in prayer, and i feel an instant peace within. i feel refreshed to tackle everything. I have a fresher perspective and I become ecstatic like my DS (Dearest Son) who is always eager to discover new things around him, full of energy, having no care and doesn’t mind moving items one hundredth times even after have told him not to.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hi friends, this is coming rather very late but being my first post of the year,  I would love to say Happy New year to you all and do have a very wonderful 2012. The year started quite well except for some economic and politically related issues in my wonderful country Nigeria that led to more than a long week industrial strike coupled with protest all around the nation. It’s been quite a wonderful period of learning for me, as I looked on for the first time in my adult years in a democratic government, citizens who were ready to fight to the last for their rights. It was an amazing time with lots of debates and groups springing up to mobilize individuals to stand and fight for want they wanted from their leaders.

It’s wonderful to see people coming to a self realization of the need to be actively involved in the policy and decision making of a government that is supposed to serve their interest. It is on this precipice that I would base my write up. I love seeing people wake up to their inner abilities and interest, long gone the time when we as a people swallowed whatever was dished out to us by our so called leaders who claimed to be working for our interest. Politics has never been a strong point for me but I’m beginning to develop a keen interest in the affairs of governance.

Importantly, as I followed closely, the activities of government, the various protest groups; I witnessed firsthand, a reawakening of great minds people rising up to their leaders demanding that they fulfil the mandate of their political office. I was struck immediately, that indeed “the future belongs to those who dare to paint it’’ I also love the phrase “You demand from life what you desire”. This is not the year to let opportunities pass you by; it is a year we all must seek, demand, and take hold of only the best of our desires. It’s a year to chase away fear and dare to attain heights we’ve dreamt about.

I for one, have come to dedicate the first part of my year not just to writing goals, but to engage in spiritual and meditative activities, it helps to detoxify me and keep me fresh and awake for the months ahead. It’s a whole New year ahead of me as am not only taking up a great new job but charging up to meet my goals in the months ahead. I leave this with you, “goals are not meant to be written down alone, but written to be acted upon.” We must chase our fears, face challenges squarely, and get up immediately when we fall. It is the time to be actively involved in all that happens to you in the coming year. Do not fail to acknowledge your creator this year in all you do, it is time to place Him above all other. Do have a great year. Ciao
