In Pursuit Of Happiness

Many people go through life in search of happiness but few find it. Here is the story of a woman, whose only son died, with grief  she went to a holy man and asked, ”what magical powers do you have to take away sorrow?”and he said to her go ”Fetch me a mustard seed from a home that has never known sorrow. We will use it to drive sorrow out of your life.” The woman went off at once in search of that magical mustard seed.

She came first to a mansion and said to them” I am looking for a place that has never known sorrow. Is this such a place?” they told her she was in the wrong place and they began to relate to her all the tragic things that had befallen them recently,” who is better to help these once than I, who have had misfortune of my own?” she thought to herself, she  then stayed back, comforted them and moved on with her search.

Wherever she turned she found, one sad tale or the other and she forgot her quest for the magical mustard seed, as she became involved in ministering to them and ultimately she never realized that she had driven sorrow out of her life. What can you see?

People go through ups and downs of life and constantly keep searching happiness. While the way to happiness is:

  • Keep your heart free from hate, your mind from worry
  • expect little, give much
  • fill your life with love, scatter sunshine
  • forget self, think of others

Do as you would be done by, live a simple life. Try this for a week and you will be surprised. ciao

  1. WOW! This is really a magical cure because I testify it works.

Whenever I am worried, sad or just in a sorrow, I tend to render the little assistance I can give to someone just to put a smile on their face.

However, it makes me feel good too and all my disturbance will be vanished.

But I never noticed that until I read your post sister Damilola.

    Thanks Alot!
